This Saturday (April 16) the Bramall opens its doors to children of all ages to take part in free workshops and watch a special screening of the remastered popular BBC animated series, The Big Knights. From the creators behind Peppa Pig, The Big Knights is a cartoon set in the far off land of Borovia, where dragons are fierce, witches are wicked and scientists are insane. Perfect family entertainment, The Big Knights is the funny tale of two oversized brothers, Sir Boris (David Rintoul) and Sir Morris (Brian Blessed). Blundering but well-meaning, Big Knights crash though a world of yore, accompanied by their pets, Sir Horace the dog and Sir Doris the hamster, keeping young audiences thoroughly entertained.

This will be a special event for children (probably best for over 10 year olds ) and their families at the Symphony Hall’s 25th Anniversary Concert on the evening of Friday 15 April, 2016. The concert is free for anyone aged 25 and under and, for over 25s, tickets are just £10. The concert is called the Next 25 and features the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham born and bred conductor, 24 year-old Jamie Philips and a fun piece written by 25 year-old composer Ryan Latimer, who forged his musical career in Birmingham. It’s a real celebration of Birmingham’s talent and we’re really keen to get as many young people as possible to attend, and experience classical music for the first time.
