Football Team Player Awards - 13th July 2015

This year Barford had a Football Player Awards ceremony sponsored by Mr Anderson.

The first award went to Tom for outstanding services to Barford Football and for being an outstanding role model and captain on the pitch.

Zacari was voted players player of the season for his outstanding goalkeeping. Zacari also scored 7 goals in all competitions, when playing outfield.

The final award went to Sabar for Top Goalscorer with 12 goals in all competitions.

Mr Anderson would like to say a big well done to all three players for helping the team reach the Aston Waterfall Final and for their outstanding work and dedication on the pitch.

Year 3 & Year 4 Girls Perry Barr Tournament - 21st May 2015

9 girls were chosen to represent Barford at the Year 3 & Year 4 Perry Barr Goals tournament.

Barford had the following teams in their group, St. Patricks, Heathfield and St. Vincents. The first match was against St. Patricks and Barford won 5-0. The second match was against Heathfield which ended in a draw, 0-0. The third and final match in the group stage was against St. Vincents, which also ended in a draw, 0-0.

Barford progressed into the semi-finals to face Perry Beeches, whose boy’s team recently won against Barford in the final of the Aston Waterfall Cup, 4-0. It was a very competitive match, as Barford have never between Perry Beeches in a football match. As the final whistle blew, there was joy for Barford as they managed to finally beat Perry Beeches 1-0.

Barford advanced to the final to face Welford Primary. It was a tense final as both teams gave it their all and both teams could not be separated. The final score after extra time was, 0-0. Both Barford and Welford are joint winners and share the trophy.

Big congratulations to the girls team, who were undefeated throughout the tournament and are the 2nd girls team to win the tournament in Barford’s history.

Year 3 and Year 4 Perry Barr Goals Tournament - 14th May 2015

9 boys were chosen to represent Barford at the Year 3 & Year 4 Perry Barr Goals tournament.

The team performed very well and showed great determination by making a great comeback, going 2 goals down and then drawing 2-2 in one match in the group stages.

Unfortunately, the team did not progress past the group stages, even though they remained undefeated throughout the whole tournament.

Well done to the team who were undefeated throughout the tournament.

Final Cup Match - 7th May 2015

Barford faced Perry Beeches in the final. Barford had a tough match with Perry Beeches playing some wonderful attacking football. Unfortunately some bad marking from corner kicks allowed Perry Beeches to score. In the second half, Barford played better and played more positive attacking football. It was a very tough match and Barford did themselves proud by not letting their heads fall down.

Final Score, Perry Beeches 4-0 Barford.

Semi Final Cup Match - 30th April 2015

Barford's next opponents on the cup trail was St. Teresa's Catholic Primary School.

Barford won 2-0 in another tight match and progress to the FINAL!

Quarter Final Cup Match - 24th March 2015

Barford played an important Quarter Final cup match against Sacred Heart, with the winners progressing to the Semi Final.

The match was very tight with both teams giving it their all. The match went to penalties.

Football League Match - 19th March 2015

Barford played a further 2 games on Thursday. The first match was against Nishkam. Final Score, Barford 7 - 0 Nishkam.

The second match was against Grove. Final score, Barford 2 - 1 Grove.

Football League Match - 12th March 2015

Barford played a further 2 games on Thursday. The first match was against Wilkes Green Junior School. Final Score, Wilkes Green 4 - 0 Barford.

The second match was against James Watt. Final score, James Watt 2 - 1 Barford.

Football League Match - 5th March 2015

Barford played 2 games on Thursday. The first match was against St. Patricks Catholic Primary School. Barford dominated the match and won 5-0.

The second match was against Oasis Academy Foundry. Barford won 2-1 with a gutsy performance.

Mr Anderson again praised the performances of the whole team and was especially pleased with the passing and movement of the team.

Year 4 and Year 5 Tournament - 4th March 2015

This year the tournament was held at goals. Barford had Heathfield Primary, Oasis Academy Foundry and St. Teresa's Catholic Primary School in their group. Barford beat all the teams in their group and progressed to the semi-final against Welford Primary. Unfortunatley Barford lost to Welford Primary 1-0 in the semi-final and were knocked out of the tournament.

At the end of the tournament, Mr Anderson praised the performances of the whole team and is looking forward to the next tournament.
