This half-term seems to be going very quickly and there have been lots of exciting things going on !

Some of the children have been very excited about going on their class trips over the last few weeks – including nursery (visited Pippatopia), Year 3 Cedar (Birmingham back to back houses) and our year 6 trip and residential to Ingestre Hall. There are more trips to

Headteacher's message

It has been an extremely busy start to our Summer Term. Year 6 sat their SATS last week and have shown many of our Barford values! They have worked very hard, showing true resilience and ambition.

A big thank you to all Year 6 staff who led our children on their challenging journey throughout the school.

Congratulations also to our Year 1 children, who worked hard with the Royal Ballet during their visit to us a few weeks ago. The children worked really hard and were able to demonstrate their creative flair.

Some of our children were chosen by the Royal Ballet to work with them to further develop their skills. Well done!

Unfortunately, we say goodbye to Miss Wright. She has secured a job in IT and is embarking on a new career. We wish her well in her new journey.

Finally, have a wonderful half-term break with your children. We are back to school on Tuesday 2nd June, and we look forward to seeing you all back with us then!

Headteacher's message

It has been a very exciting halt-term with many things to celebrate. I just want to say a big shout out to our LPPA (Leading Parents Partnership Group), who have held their first few meetings at school and prioritised what we need to do to improve our school. There is now a 'LPPA’ post box by the main office reception, if you would like to post a comment or any ideas to the group to help improve our school. You are also all most welcome at the meetings if you would prefer to do this face to face and help make a difference together for the good of all of our children at Barford.

Our 'pop up' pool has now arrived on school site and we are looking forward to the children in years 1 - 6 taking part in their swimming lessons up to Easter. The children will receive a swimming badge and certificate at the end of their swimming to help celebrate what they have achieved. Please ensure you have signed your consent on MCAS so your children can take part in the swimming lessons.

We say goodbye to Ms Simms, one of our Lunchtime Supervisors, who is leaving to focus on becoming a teaching assistant. We thank her for her hard work and commitment over the years and look forward to hearing about how she is getting on in the future.

Finally, we hope all have a wonderful half-term; please stay safe and warm! We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 23rd February.

Headteacher's message

It has been a very cold start to our Spring Term and thank you for working with us during our snow closure day. We hope the communication for the closure was effective and you received messages quickly so you could plan your day. You should have received letters this week that provide details about up-and-coming events at Barford over the next term. These have been uploaded onto our school website and are displayed on the display boards outside school. We hope you find this information useful to help you plan ahead.

Finally, we are holding two parent meetings next week: our fundraising group on
