Cultural Celebration Display - 19th June 2017

Cultural Celebration Day Assembly - 26th May 2017

This year each class chose a country from a continent. This included finding out facts about their chosen country such as what flag does the country have? And what language(s) do they speak? What kind of food do they eat? etc...

Barford also had some special school workshops for the children leading up the assembly. The School workshops provided children a chance to learn Bollywood dancing, Steel Pans and Samba drumming.

Walk To School Week Competition Winners - 15th May 2017

As part of Walk to School Week, the children were given the challenge of creating a poster to encourage everyone to walk to school. After careful deliberation the winners of the competition were Hafsa, Alima and Anum.

Well done to the winners of the competition!

Each winner walked away with a goodie bag and Mr Lee also gave each winner a selection of books.

A big thank you to all the children that took part and a bigger thank you to Miss Wright for organising the competition.

Red Nose Day Photos - 24th March 2017

Barford have been fundraising all week, selling Red Noses, Eager Beavers making and sellings cakes, staff cake sale and the Staff sweepstake with all proceeds going to Red Nose Day.

The school managed to raise a total of £25 worth of 1p’s and 2p’s.

The Eager Beavers raised £77.24 by selling cakes leading up to and including Red Nose Day 2017.

Mrs Janagal would like to thank Miss Freeman and the Eager Beavers for their outstanding contribution to Red Nose Day.

A big thank you to all pupils, parents and staff who bought a Red Nose. Mr Lee purchased a total of 16 boxes and the school sold out of every Red Nose.

Well done if you managed to complete your collection of Red Noses.

A big thank you to Mrs Janagal and the School Council for organising the Red Nose Day activities.

Look out early next week when the school will have a grand total raised for Red Nose Day!

Red Nose Day Eager Beavers Photos (21st-24th March 2017)

To raise money for Red Nose Day Eager Beavers baked cakes and sold them throughout the week leading up to Red Nose Day on 24th March 2017. Have a look at the photos below to see the Eager Beavers hard at work making the cakes!

St. Patrick's Day 2017 - 17th March 2017

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day everybody in the School wore something green. Some pupils dressed up in traditional Irish clothes to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Have look at the photos below celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Teddy Bears Mosaic - 17th March 2017

Barford Primary School has joined up with (The Big Sleuth) The Little Bears Detective Club to win Inspector Claw-So Bear.

As part of the competition pupils and staff from the school were asked to bring in their Teddy Bears and put a Teddy Tag on them.
Photos of the Teddy Bears will be sent to produce a large photo-mosaic for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital as a gift from the
Children of Birmingham.

We would like to thank everyone who brought in their Teddy Bear.

A special thank you to Miss Freeman who organised everything from Teddy Bears to Teddy Tags!

World Book Day 2017 Assembly - 3rd March 2017

This year's World Book Day Assembly performances were based on Animal Stories. So grab some popcorn and enjoy the wonderful performances.

Custard Factory Funday Visit - 14th December 2016

As a Christmas treat pupils from the Multi-Skills club went to the Custard Factory. The pupils took part in lots of activities as well as meeting Santa. The pupils designed their own T-Shirts, had their face painted and also took a goody bag home which included a special Christmas present.

Christmas Jumper Day - 16th December 2016

On Christmas Jumper Day Barford raised a total of £220. Well done to everyone who took part!

Food Bank Collection - 12th December 2016

As part of Barford Primary School’s Harvest Assembly, it was decided that the Food Bank collection would take place in December to help families in need during the Christmas holidays. Parents and Pupils were asked to bring in one or more items of non-perishable food to donate to the Food Bank.

The donated food will go to the Birmingham Central Food Bank where it will be used to help families in need.

The generosity of Parents and Pupils at Barford Primary School has been overwhelming. Over 200 non perishable items were collected from classes across the school and we would like to say a massive THANK YOU!

A special thank you to Year 5 who donated the most food.

Also another big THANK YOU to Mrs Janagal and the School Council for organising the Food Bank Collection.

Christmas treat - panto comes to Barford - 7th December 2016

This year Barford pupils were treated to a traditional Christmas panto, Aladdin and was performed by a theatre company. All pupils and staff enjoyed the panto and some pupils were lucky enough to receive Aladdin's treasure (sweets).

Christmas arrives at Barford! - 1st December 2016

Every year the breakfast and after school club together with Miss Freeman create fantastic Christmas displays and this year is no exception.

This year we have a fantastic Kitchen hatch display, Santa's Post House display and a special staff Christmas advent calendar.

A big thank you to the breakfast and after school club for making the wonderful Christmas displays. A big thank you to Miss Freeman who designed the special staff Christmas advent calendar and finally a big thank you to the office staff who decorated the Christmas Tree in the small hall.

Make sure you visit the school everyday to see which school staff member will be revealed on the advent calendar.
