School Council 2015-16 Blog

Welcome to the School Council blog. In this blog you will see all the fantastic work the School Council are doing at Barford.

School Council Tidy Library - 18th May 2016

This week the School Council took on the mammoth task of tidying up the School Library. The councillors spent over 1 hour tidying up the library and putting all the books in the correct place.

A big thank you to Mrs Janagal and the School Councillors for tidying up the Library.

Make sure you visit the library where you can now find every book in the correct place.

Active Summerfield Walk - 4th May 2016

The School Council, Mrs Janagal and Mr Lee went on a 2km walk (red dots) around Summerfield Park as shown in the image below. It was a nice sunny day and the children and staff enjoyed the walk in the pleasant weather.

The children's comments of the walk can be read below:-

"It was interesting because of all the facts shared by Mr Lee".

"We Learned about different houses, roads, tree..."

"It was nice to look at local places like the Church, another School, Police Station..."

"We even saw one of our dads'".

"It would be more interesting if some of this information was on the map".

"Maybe if the map (local walk) was made bigger so more detail could be added".

Taster Session - 20th November 2015

One of the many perks of being a School Councillor is being invitied to the taster sessions. At the taster sessions the School Councillors get to try new foods and then vote to have the foods added to the School Dinner Menu.

The dish being tasted today was garlic/corriander naan base pizza. All 12 School Councillors enjoyed the dish and all 12 School Councillors voted yes to have the dish on the School Dinner Menu.

The catering staff would like to thank the School Council and Mrs Janagal for another successful taster session.

Look out for the dish on the School Dinner Menu in the Spring term.
