Reception Nativity

The annual reception nativity play is here with a modern twist. Get ready for some excellent singing and show stomping tunes. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the annual reception nativity play.

Multicultural Assembly - June 2014

This year each class chose a country to represent and explored the culture of their chosen country. This included finding out facts about their chosen country such as what flag does the country have? And what language(s) do they speak? What kind of food do they eat?

Barford also had some special school workshops for the children leading up the assembly. The School workshops provided children a chance to learn Break Dancing, Play The Guitar, Bollywood Dancing and African Drumming.

After School Club

The After School Club made a special Christmas Gingerbread house for the office staff, Mr Lee, Ms Latham and Mrs Harrison. The After School Club sang a Christmas carol to the office staff, Mr Lee, Ms Latham and Mrs Harrison. The After School Club then presented the specal Christmas Gingerbread house. We would like to thank the After School Club staff for their hard work and we would also like to thank the After School Club children on their excellent baking skills.

Christmas Dinner Grandparents Lunch with The Bunch

On Wednesday 18th December, Barford had their annual Christmas Grandparents lunch with the bunch dinner. Grandparents joined in with their loved ones and had some festive food with some festive music in the dinner hall. Everybody enjoyed themselves and had a great time!

Perry Beeches II Multi-Skills Year 5 Tournament

Year 5 Barford pupils participated in the Annual Primary Perry Beeches II Multi Skills Year 5 Tournament at the NIA. The Year 5 pupils were split into 2 teams, Mr Anderson’s team and Miss William’s team. The children competed in the following events and got the following scores:-

Sticky Wicket - 24
Soccer Slalom - 9
Rugby Passes - 76
Over / Under Ball - 48
Agility Run - 22
Soccer Kick - 31
Target Throw (Hoop) - 43
Ball Throw – 82

With a total score of 335, Mr Anderson’s team came 1st and Miss William’s team came 3rd. Well done to both Year 5 teams and congratulations to Year 5 for bringing another trophy to Barford!

School Council Tree Planting - 22nd January 2014

The Barford School Council and Birmingham Trees for Life planted 10 trees in Summerfield Park on 22nd January 2014. The School Councillors, Mrs Janagal and Mr Baddhan planted the trees throughout Summerfield Park. The School Councillors did all the hard work by putting the soil around 10 trees.

The School Councillors planted the following trees (click on the name of trees to see more information):-

•    Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesdon
•    Quercus rubra
•    Crataegus laevigata Paul’s Scarlet
•    Quercus Palustris

After all the hard work was done the School Councillors received a badge, stickers and a pencil. The children worked very hard and had a great day! Photos of the school councillors have been added below.

Cricket Tournament at Edgbaston Cricket Ground - 11th February 2014

Barford entered their first ever cricket tournament at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The Barford cricket team played against 6 other schools at the tournament. Unfortunately due to the intense competition, Barford were unable to win the cricket tournament. However the cricket team enjoyed their visit to the Edgbaston Cricket Ground and did Barford proud!

World Book Day 2014

This year's World Book Day assembly was based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales. Below are the performances of the fairy tales.

Summer Rise and Shine Dance Video

Every morning at Barford each class dances to a Rise and Shine song choreographed by Mr Anderson and Barford pupils. Play the video and join in!
