Year 6 Cadbury World Visit

On Thursday 3rd of February, Year 6 went to Cadbury World to learn more about chocolate, which was our topic. First we went through a door, which led us to a small room which taught us about where cocoa beans came from. This room was dark and only had a small amount of light.

Then we moved around the factory and went to another small room where we saw some people talking about how the chocolate idea came up. We had to go to another theatre, which taught us a little bit about how chocolate was made. Whenever the Professor said what would happen to the cocoa beans (such as mix together) the benches what we were sitting on would do the same (vibrate).

After that room, we went to find out about our favourite chocolate. My partner chose ‘Roses’. We then went up the stairs and we smelt luscious, delicious chocolate. We saw it being mixed, and it smelt marvellous. Then eventually went to a room with cool effects. My favourite one was where you take a picture and it would turn into a chocolate statue.

Soon after we went on the Cadbury ride. It went very slow, but it was really cool. Next, we went into a room where we could mix our chocolate with fillings, such as popcorn, wine gums, rice crispies, and many more. We went to eat them outside on the benches. When we finished our chocolate it was time to go home.

Below are some photos of our visit to Cadbury World.

Multi-Cultural Celebration 2011

This year each class chose a country to represent and explored the culture of their chosen country. This included learning the location of their chosen country and finding out facts about their chosen country such as what flag does the country have? And what language do they speak?

Barford also had some special after school workshops for children leading up the annual Multicultural Celebration assembly. The after school workshops provided children a chance to learn Bollywood dancing, African dancing, African drumming and Spanish dancing. The children performed the dances and drumming in the annual Barford Multicultural celebration assembly.
