2009-10 School Gallery

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Gallery. Here you will find photos and videos of all the fantastic events at Barford.

Annual Ladywood Football Tournament

On Friday 27th November Barford took part in the annual consortium cup and competed against St Patrick’s, St Edmund’s, St John’s and George Dixon.

In the group stages Barford won 2 and lost 2. In the last group game Barford needed to score 13 goals to progress in the tournament and managed to score 12 goals with the help of ace goal scorer Kemaiya. Barford went through to the semi-final as runners up on goals scored. Barford won the semi-final match against St Georges, but, unfortunately lost in the final against St Edmunds. Lots of chances fell to Gevick and Kasim in the final, but they were unable to finish the chances.

When Mr Martin was asked which players he was impressed with the most he replied "Kemaiya is the star of the team. Without the goals that she scored we would not have reached the finals!" Mr Martin also had special praise for Shavani who he called "the defensive rock of the team!" as Shavani was not afraid to tackle the opposition.

The whole School would like to say a big well done to the football team on becoming runners-up in the Consortium Football Tournament!

Well done to Abdul, Amaar, Kemayia, Kasim, Shavani and Gevick who played very well and did the School proud. A BIG thank you to Mr Martin for all of the coaching and effort he puts into training the pupils.

Multicultural Celebration

Welcome to Barford's annual Cultural Celebration webpage. This year each class chose a country to represent and explored the culture of their chosen country. This included learning the location of their chosen country and finding out facts about their chosen country such as what flag does the country have? And what language do they speak?

Barford also had some special after school clubs for children leading up the annual Cultural Celebration assembly. The after school clubs provided children a chance to learn bollywood dancing, african dancing, african drumming, drama and salsa dancing. The children performed the dances, drumming and drama scenes in the annual Barford Cultural Celebration assembly.

Year 3 Art Assembly

Year 3 worked very hard last year doing their Town and Country Art project. Year 3 learned about natural fibres and goods and compared them to Man made products. Using the Work Booklets Year 3 made a record of their findings. Year 3 also learned where our food comes from, who produces it and the journey it takes from the farm to us in the city. Using this knowledge the Year 3 children created a farm wall piece and a cityscape wall piece. The video below shows the whole process that Year 3 went through to create both wall pieces.
